It took just 13 games for Aaron Boone to record his first ejection of the season.
On Wednesday night, with the Yankees trailing 4-1 against the Marlins in the bottom of the seventh inning at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees manager was thrown out after Alex Verdugo was called for a strike on a pitch that appeared low to the outside corner.
Boone’s animated reaction from the dugout was enough to eject home plate umpire John Bacon as the Bronx crowd booed throughout the stadium.
Before heading to the clubhouse, Boone came out and opined with Bacon about the call, which forced him to a 1-2 count and ultimately led to Verdugo’s strikeout.
Boone has been ejected during his seven years with the Yankees.

He had an AL-leading seven ejections last season, bringing his total to 33 in his managerial career.
