Aaron Carter’s mother is on a mission to etch her son’s name into Hollywood’s legacy and is reaching out to fans for support.
Jane Carter Schneck has launched a Gofundme campaign aiming to raise $85,000 to secure a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to TMZ. She intends to submit her application by the May 15 deadline.
This undertaking necessitates a formal application, a sponsorship fee, and the approval of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee.
Schneck expressed that her son “would have loved” this idea, reminiscing about their walks down the boulevard during visits to Los Angeles.
She recounted a specific memory for TMZ: When Carter was around 12, she confidently told him, “You’ll be there someday,” and he immediately agreed.
Carter’s siblings, Nick and Angel, fully support this initiative, with Schneck believing that fans will play a crucial role in making it happen.
The fundraising campaign mentioned that contributions will go towards “the creation, installation, and long-term maintenance of the Star,” emphasizing, “As fans, friends, and supporters, we unite to honor Aaron Carter’s legacy… Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal.”
Carter was discovered deceased in a bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California, on November 5, 2022, at the age of 34. While the cause of death was initially undisclosed, the Los Angeles County coroner later determined it to be an accidental drowning, linked to difluoroethane inhalation and alprazolam consumption.
His remains were cremated, and his ashes were entrusted to his twin sister, Angel.
The late artist leaves behind a son, Prince Lyric Carter (born November 2021), with his former fiancée, Melanie Martin.
Additionally, his younger brother Nick is part of the Backstreet Boys, celebrated as one of the most iconic pop groups ever.
