Aaron Donald's wife shares brief reply to unretirement discussions

As speculation swirls around Aaron Donald potentially rejoining the Rams, his wife seems to have a different take on the situation.

Erica Donald, the wife of the three-time Defensive Player of the Year, expressed her thoughts on social media on Tuesday afternoon. “You guys are so funny,” she tweeted.

Initial rumors about Donald’s comeback emerged when former teammate Michael Brockers hinted that he thought Donald might be considering a return, especially after the Rams made a surprising trade for Myles Garrett.

Brockers mentioned, “(I) have some knowledge that other people may not have…My players continue to prepare so I don’t have to prepare.”

Then, adding more fuel to the fire, Donald shared a video of himself working out last week, which featured Bixst’s song “Ain’t Done” along with the caption “#ready.” So, it’s hard not to wonder what’s brewing here.

The situation escalated a bit when Pat McAfee revealed he had been in contact with Donald, noting that the trade certainly made him reconsider his future. McAfee relayed that Donald texted him saying, “We have to see if the fire gets rekindled.”

Things took a further turn during a press conference for Garrett’s induction when Rams head coach Sean McVay addressed the rumors, appearing quite optimistic. “If he’s interested, there’s a chance…” he said with a smile. McVay further elaborated on the respect Donald holds for Garrett and expressed confidence in Donald’s ability should he decide to return, even at 35 years old.

Despite the chatter, it seems that everyone has offered their thoughts on the matter except for Donald himself. Fans can now add Erica’s light-hearted take as another intriguing element in this unfolding story.
