minnesota vikings Running back Aaron Jones said his mother called for him to be benched after two recent fumbles against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Pro Bowl running back struggled with ball security in his first season with the Vikings. Four of his last five fumbles have come in his last three games since returning from a rib injury.

They narrowly won against the Cardinals on Sunday. Jones fumbled twice. on the first play of each of Minnesota's first two drives.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed confidence in Jones, but Jones said his mother was against it.
“She said, 'They need to sit you down,'” he said Thursday, recalling a conversation he had with his mother, Burgess-Jones, after last week's game.
“She was like, 'I don't know what's going on, but they need to take him out of the game. They need to put him on the bench right now.'” I hear that story from my mom. Every time, the situation will get worse. ”

Jones admitted that her mother's candor left her a little speechless.
“I thought, 'Oh, I have to learn from that incident.' She said, 'Didn't you learn last week?'
“I didn't know what to say,” he said with a laugh. “But that's what I need. You know, my mother was hard on me, but that was my father for many years. He's not here, so now I don't have to ask him. However, it seems that my mother has taken over this role.
