Aaron Judge lit up Yankee Stadium on Friday night with just one swing of the bat.
The Yankees captain and former MVP took to the mound with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Yankees were losing 4-1 to the Boston Red Sox.
Then Judge hit a 2-0 pitch into deep right field for a home run that was sure to end the game before the crowd even left the infield, putting the Yankees up 5-4. They held on to win the first two games of the series against Boston and moving into a three-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East.

For Judge, the grand slam broke a rare home run streak. Before Friday night's game, Judge had gone 16 straight games without a home run, the longest home run streak of his career. The streak came in the midst of arguably Judge's best hitting season to date.

With the grand slam, Judge hit his 52nd home run of the season and improved his batting average to .321, his OPS to 1.143 and his RBIs to 130.
But before Friday, he Colorado Rockies As of Aug. 26, the six-time All-Star pitcher is batting .204 (11-for-54) with 22 strikeouts in 15 games.
Judge's longest career home run streak was when he went 15 games without hitting a home run from Aug. 17-Sept. 2, 2017 during his rookie season.

Before his current drought, Judge was on a red-hot streak, hitting nine home runs in 10 games, leading people to think he might have a chance to break his own AL single-season home run record, which he set with 62 home runs, in 2022.
Still, Judge is currently on track to win his second American League MVP award in three years.
