Aaron Phypers appeared cheerful after his recent arrest for spousal abuse.
The estranged husband of Denise Richards was spotted grinning as he stood with a bondsman in California on Friday night.
Phypers, 53, was dressed in a light blue button-down shirt tucked into dark jeans and complemented the outfit with a black suit jacket.
He was arraigned in a Los Angeles courtroom that Friday, facing charges related to spousal abuse during his contentious divorce from Richards.
Eyewitnesses reported that Phypers was heard arguing with deputies while heading back to the courtroom to collect his belongings.
Later that day, he was released after posting a $200,000 bail at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department.
In July, Richards had filed for a temporary restraining order against him after alleging that he blindsided her amid a dispute. Sources indicated that Richards was injured while under the influence of alcohol, whereas Phypers has denied the abuse claims.
One insider stated, “This aligns with Denise Richards’ ongoing fibs about her drinking issues,” adding that a photo allegedly proving her injuries was misrepresented. They claimed it was taken in winter 2022, asserting Richards was drunk and fell while at his home.
Currently, Richards, 54, is working to secure a permanent restraining order. During recent court sessions, she testified that Phypers had assaulted her numerous times throughout their relationship. Richards detailed alarming incidents, including sustaining “at least three concussions,” and recalled a specific instance from January 2022 when she received a black eye due to his actions.
Phypers has countered Richards’ accusations, suggesting that she bruises easily and linking her injuries to her behavior rather than his actions. He noted seeing her with various bruises, which he attributed to her falling or accidents while cooking.
