Aaron Phypers has denied accusations of abuse made by Denise Richards. He responded Thursday, shortly after a temporary domestic violence order was issued against him by the 54-year-old actress.
Phypers, 52, stated that the allegations of physical abuse are “not true.” He insisted he has “real evidence” to support his claims.
According to court documents, Richards claimed in a petition that he threatened her life if she reported the alleged abuse to the police.
In her filing, the reality star described frequent violent incidents during their relationship. She claimed Phypers would “suffocate” her by squeezing her head and arms, and reportedly slammed her head against various surfaces, including a bathroom towel rack.
Richards mentioned an incident from 2022, expressing concerns that a potted plant she owned had become “a delusion,” believing it had listening devices at her workplace in Malibu.
She also included a photo of herself with visible injuries, alleging that her husband struck her using the heel of his palm.
The court filing detailed that Phypers became violent when he suggested she attend a work trip by herself. Richards alleged that he grabbed her hair and slammed her to the ground while shouting.
She recounted a heated argument that led to her filing for divorce on July 7, claiming Phypers was “furious” after she and her family informed him they needed to leave their shared home.
According to Richards, Phypers repeatedly came very close to her face, hurling insults and aggressive remarks for nearly two hours.
The next day, Phypers reportedly returned to her townhouse and again approached her closely.
Richards also asserted that he would throw her belongings around aggressively.
In his divorce filing, Phypers cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, listing their separation date as July 4.
He is seeking spousal support and wants to separate their assets and liabilities, noting that Richards earns over $250,000 a month from various endeavors.
He expressed interest in retaining specific property, including his motorcycle and sports car.
This isn’t Richards’ first marriage; she was previously wed to Charlie Sheen from 2002 to 2006. They have a 14-year-old daughter, Eloise, together.
Following Richards’ allegations, an old clip from a reality show surfaced showing Phypers making a threatening remark about crushing her hand during a tense moment.
Phypers has been ordered to maintain a distance of 100 yards from Richards and her belongings. A hearing for the restraining order is set for August 8.
