Aaron Rodgers has late Garrett Wilson miss in Jets’ loss

LONDON — Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson connected 13 times Sunday, but the one time they didn't connect will be more memorable.

With the Jets desperately trying to win the game, Rodgers knocked down a wide-open Wilson on the sideline.

On a play that started at the Vikings' 41-yard line, after Wilson got free on a double move and had nothing but grass in front of him, the first down was incomplete and it felt like this could have been the winner. .

Instead, Rodgers, who wasn't sure of his feet, threw the ball too far, and the Jets lost 23–17 after Rodgers made his third interception a few plays later.

Rodgers suggested Wilson may have slipped during the play.

While this incompletion is memorable, the fact that Wilson had 13 catches for 101 yards and one touchdown comes after controversy over whether Wilson and Rodgers were on the same page, and this week It's notable after Wilson made critical comments about the offense and how he was used.

“At the end of the day, it's not about me and him being on the same page,” Wilson said. “It's not about me and him doing da, da, da. We have to win the game. It doesn't matter. Do you think that's going to help us win? Yes. Do I think I can help win by participating? Yes. But the ultimate goal is to win, whatever it takes to get there. It is a must.”

Rodgers said the Jets made an effort to get Wilson open.

Rodgers threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Wilson early in the fourth quarter, cutting the score to 20-17.

“It's good to get G involved,” Rodgers said. “We moved him around a lot. We gave him different routes. You know, there could have been some bigger ones. He slipped on a situation that could have been a touchdown. He slipped on an in-break that could have been a big break from behind. So there was some conversation on the field about how slippery the field was. But both teams took advantage of it. We have to deal with it.”
