Rodgers Opposes Trans Women in Sports
NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently shared his views against men competing in women’s sports, describing the movement as “anti-women.” This statement emerged during his guest appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast.
“Trans women’s movements are actually anti-women,” Rodgers remarked, further specifying that he was referring to sports.
He continued, “That’s what I mean—sports. You don’t see trans men dominating anything because there’s a biological difference,” emphasizing his point.
Rodgers, a former Super Bowl champion, has transitioned from the New York Jets to being an unsigned free agent. His position aligns with that of former Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre, who has also criticized the participation of trans athletes in women’s sports. As reported earlier this year, Favre expressed his views while appearing on Fox News, responding to a segment with host Whoopi Goldberg, who seemed puzzled about the issue of men in women’s sports.
Favre stated, “There’s nothing I can say that’s going to change her mind. I can only shake my head at this. That’s common sense at its best. Well, what can I say? There are no words.” Despite his speechlessness, he reiterated that it’s important to understand the implications of allowing men to compete against women.
Recent polls indicate that a significant majority of Americans support keeping men out of women’s sports, with this consensus growing over the years.
In a recent New York Times/Ipsos poll, it was found that 79% of Americans believe trans athletes should not participate in women’s track and field events. This topic has garnered a good deal of attention in various discussions.
