Actress Shailene Woodley says she keeps quiet about her past relationship with ex-fiancé Aaron Rodgers because it makes her cry.
in Outside magazine interviewthe “Divergent” star spoke candidly about her relationship with the Jets quarterback, which ended in early 2022.
“I haven't really talked about my relationship with Aaron because I cry all the time,” she said in a rare comment about Rodgers, with the author noting that her eyes were welling up. “It wasn't right. But it was beautiful.”
Woodley, 33, and Rodgers, 41, called off their engagement in February 2022, just over a year after going public with their relationship. That April they split again.
“At the beginning of 2022, something really terrible and traumatic happened,” Woodley said, without going into details of the trauma.
“I felt like I had lost my soul, myself, happiness, joy. I really understood depression and anxiety and complete soul detachment.”
Woodley explained that she chose to stay in a “toxic situation” because she empathized with “someone else.”
Woodley did not name the person, but added, “Empathy has put me in a loop where I feel everything about everyone.”
Woodley recalled that her depression began to fade six months after the traumatic experience, and that her stylist, Chris Zero, helped her get out of rock bottom.
“I knew I was depressed when I looked at the tree and didn't feel anything. That was the lowest point of my life,” Woodley said, adding that Zero woke her up every morning. , adding that he would then play music to get me out of bed.
“Sometimes I was very angry with her,” Woodley said. “But then we ended up going surfing and for 10 minutes that day I thought life might be okay again. Then the depression came back and she said, 'We're going to the horse farm. I'm volunteering there!'' Then I randomly found a horse farm and cleared out the horses. We cleaned the hooves and brushed the horses. For 20 minutes that day, I thought life might be okay again. Then the depression came back and the next morning she woke me up and said, “Let's go for a hike and take garbage bags and clean up the trash.'' ”
Both the actress and Super Bowl winner are currently believed to be single.
“One of my biggest dreams is to become a mother,” Woodley added.
