Aaron Rodgers responds to Terry Bradshaw's jab about the Steelers joke

Aaron Rodgers holds Terry Bradshaw in high regard, recognizing him as a significant figure in the Steelers’ history, where he played for 14 years and won four Super Bowls as a quarterback.

However, Bradshaw criticized the Steelers’ decision to pursue Rodgers, suggesting it was more of a joke than a serious consideration. In an interview with the NFL Network, he remarked that, frankly, “he doesn’t know me.”

“I’ve been familiar with Terry for quite a while. I work with Fox,” Rodgers commented. “Terry is a legend—there’s no doubt about that. Four Super Bowl wins, and his media career is remarkable. Still, he doesn’t truly know me.”

Back in May, when Bradshaw made his remarks, Rodgers’ one-year, $13.65 million deal was just on the horizon and not yet finalized.

During that discussion, Bradshaw made a rather unusual suggestion—he joked that Rodgers should “stay in California, bite the bark, and whisper to God.”

At 41, Rodgers is entering what might be his last season, aiming to overcome the difficulties he faced during his time with the Jets.

Bradshaw seems to have preferred a different quarterback option altogether, expressing disbelief at the prospect of Rodgers joining the team.

“It’s a joke; I mean, really, it’s a joke to me,” Bradshaw mentioned then. “What can you do? You’ll take him for a year? Are you serious? The guy should just stay in California.”

When questioned about Bradshaw’s comments, Rodgers responded humorously, saying he “whispers to God every day” and invited the opportunity to understand Bradshaw better, saying they could form a solid friendship if given the chance.

Rodgers, who recently married, will face his former team, the Jets, in the first week of the new season when he travels to MetLife Stadium.
