New York Jets fans collectively held their breath when Aaron Rodgers took a hit and twisted it against the Minnesota Vikings, but for some reason he immediately lost possession after the Jets kept the ball on a penalty. I'm back on the field.
Rodgers finished the game, a loss for New York as his third interception cost him any chance of winning, but he told reporters that he suffered a lower ankle sprain on that hit. NFL Network.
The severity of the sprain is unknown, but it was not painful enough to take him out of the game.

During a third-down tackle in the third quarter, Rodgers' leg was bent very awkwardly and he was seen crawling across the grass and clutching the back of his left leg, clearly in pain.
Rodgers was evaluated on the field after his injury and left the field on his own, but had a difficult walk to the sideline where a blue medical tent was set up.

However, Vikings linebacker Ivan Pace was called up at No. 4 and 10 as the rough kicker, giving the Jets some new life. So instead of entering the medical tent, Rogers jogged outside to get a helmet so he could return to the field.
Jets fans collectively gasped when Rodgers led the offense downfield and made a field goal to bring New York within seven points.

The last time the Jets saw Rodgers cautiously walk off the field, he had torn his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of last season against the Buffalo Bills. So the fear he must have caused after that awkward blow is understandable.
He ended up being evaluated in the blue tent, where the Jets' training staff determined it was safe for Rodgers to continue playing.
But heading into next week, Rodgers didn't walk away from that blow unscathed.

It was a tough game for Rodgers, who had three interceptions, including a pick-six by Andrew van Ginkel in the first half. Rodgers finished the game with touchdown passes to Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson, completing 29 of 54 for 244 yards.
