Training Camp Fun: DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers’ Dorm Life
Aaron Rodgers is quite particular about his sleep, which has led to some interesting rules set by his roommate, DK Metcalf. The two are sharing a dorm at St. Vincent College during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ training camp that started earlier this week. This setup is part of a strategy to strengthen team bonds while on the field.
“The toilets are really loud,” Metcalf mentioned, adding that after some late-night visits, he told Rodgers, “Yeah, don’t flush the toilet at night.” To which, Rodgers responded, “It’s all good,” or something like that.
Metcalf recalled texting Rodgers late one night to check if he was already asleep. After a brief exchange confirming that Rodgers was indeed awake, Metcalf felt reassured. “It’s cool,” he reflected about their bathroom arrangement.
Despite the restroom rules, it seems Rodgers is adapting well to dorm life.
In a light-hearted moment, Rodgers remarked, “I’m really glad I’m staying with DK. I mean, at least they didn’t pair me with a big lineman or someone who wouldn’t care about cleanliness.” He’s optimistic about his participation in camp despite facing some early challenges, like throwing an interception during practice.
Rodgers is enthusiastic about the Steelers’ prospects this season. He mentioned, “There’s definitely some potential here. I see 10 to 12 teams that have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl, and I think we’re solid on paper.”
As training progresses, there’s much anticipation about how this dynamic will unfold. Who knows, maybe those dormitory moments will translate into something special on the field.
