Aaron Rodgers Plans for Life After Football
Aaron Rodgers has a clear vision for what he wants after his NFL career wraps up.
The quarterback for the Steelers confirmed that the 2026 season will be his final one. He shared that he hopes retirement will offer him a chance to step away from the spotlight, recover physically, and start a family with his wife, Brittani.
“I’m going to be hopefully supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family. And I won’t be making many appearances or comments,” he mentioned during a chat with Adam Schein on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio.
“I’m really looking forward to a quieter life after 22 years of playing professionally and three years in college, focusing on healing my body while working on my family.”
It’s worth noting that Rodgers clarified his wife isn’t currently pregnant. He said, “I’m hoping that by this time next year, I’ll have a pregnant wife.”
At 42, he expressed how spending time with his brother’s kids has heightened his enthusiasm about fatherhood, which seems to be the next step for this accomplished quarterback.
Rodgers, who has won four MVP awards and one Super Bowl ring, is back for his second season in Pittsburgh after leading the team to the playoffs last year. However, the Steelers faced a tough defeat, losing 30-6 to the Texans in the wild-card round.
Over his 21 seasons, Rodgers has accumulated impressive stats, throwing for 66,274 yards and 527 touchdowns while trailing only 123 interceptions. In 2025, he completed 65.7% of his passes for 3,322 yards, along with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions across 16 starts, helping the Steelers clinch the AFC North title.
Additionally, Mike McCarthy, who coached Rodgers in Green Bay to a Super Bowl win in 2011, is starting his first season as head coach of the Steelers after Mike Tomlin’s 19-year tenure. This transition brings Rodgers back together with the coach he played under for 13 seasons with the Packers.
