Aaron Rodgers Makes a Splash at Celebrity Golf Tournament
Aaron Rodgers certainly knows how to place the ball, no matter what the sport is. At the American Century Championship, he was seen wandering with a red drink in hand, trying to locate his ball amid the rough as young fans eagerly called out to him for a fun moment.
In a video from the event at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada, one child exclaimed, “You almost hit me, Aaron Rodgers.” To which Rodgers replied, “It’s hardly counted.”
The star quarterback is relishing the last few weeks of his offseason before Steelers training camp begins on July 24th. He made time to sign autographs for fans at the event.
This week, he faced a bit of a fan conflict when he mentioned, “You’re a signhound,” before declining to sign some items. It seems like he had a busy schedule amidst the festivities.
Amidst 90 participants, Rodgers secured the 15th spot in the celebrity tournament, which also featured big names like Stephen Curry, John Smoltz, and Tony Romo. Joe Pavelski, the former NHL star, took home the title after sinking a dramatic eagle putt.
As the 41-year-old quarterback looks ahead, there’s a sense he may be nearing the end of his career, especially after a year with the Jets. “I’m sure this is it; I know we just got a one-year contract,” he mentioned during an appearance on the “Pat McCuffy Show” in June.
During the tournament, Rodgers was also paired with his former teammate, A.J. Hawk, who finished in 47th place.
