Aaron Rodgers Thrives in Pittsburgh After Jets Stint

After the Pittsburgh Steelers secured the AFC North title, NFL Films captured a moment between Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin, where they expressed their appreciation for each other. This marks Rodgers’ 21st season, now with the Steelers.

Rodgers seems to be relishing his time in Pittsburgh. I mean, how could he not? He’s making the playoffs after a long dry spell of four years.

When asked about what he appreciates about the Steelers, Rodgers pointedly mentioned his previous team, the New York Jets, in a not-so-subtle way.

“One thing I really like here is that the boat has no leaks at all,” Rodgers remarked during a press conference. “Every season brings its challenges, but this year I’ve just been able to focus on football without being pulled in many different directions. That’s really nice.”

While with the Jets, he spoke strongly against media leaks, which he labeled as an organizational problem. “There’s no room for that in a winning culture,” he previously stated on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Rodgers missed almost all of the 2023 season due to a torn Achilles tendon. He mentioned needing to clear out distractions that don’t contribute to winning. “If we want to compete for championships, everything counts,” he emphasized.

After parting ways with the Jets, who have since hired a new head coach, it looks like Rodgers may have the last laugh, given his current success.

The Jets, on the other hand, have faced a tough season, losing 14 games, a rare occurrence in their franchise history. They’ve even set an unfortunate record by going an entire season without a single interception.
