Claim: Kamala Harris claimed Donald Trump disrespected military personnel, including those who died in battle.
Verdict: False. This is a familiar hoax started by the left. Atlantic Oceanthe moderators were unable to intervene.
Vice President Harris repeated a common false rumor from President Joe Biden, who has said that the left-leaning press Atlantic Ocean The story that former President Trump called the dead soldiers “stupid and losers” has never been directly corroborated and has been refuted by numerous witnesses.
She falsely claimed that Trump disrespects fallen service members, who in fact have been honored and have the support of Gold Star recipients whose relatives were lost in the failed Afghanistan withdrawal, and whom Harris has never attempted to reach out to.
ABC News hosts David Muir and Lindsey Davis continually interjected to fact-check Trump's comments but never corrected Harris' statements, and did not do so this time either.
Ms Harris also accused Mr Trump of disparaging Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), reviving an attack on Mr Trump that dates back nearly a decade. (Trump did so jokingly, after Mr McCain first attacked Mr Trump and his supporters.)
Democrats repeatedly ridiculed and demonized McCain during the 2008 election, but ultimately saw him as a convenient “Never Trump” counterweight to Donald Trump, and they continue to rely on him long after his death.
