CLAIM: Kamala Harris claims Trump called for “bloodshed” if he loses the election.
Verdict: False. This was a long-debunked hoax and Trump was referring to the auto industry.
During Tuesday's presidential debate, Vice President Harris falsely claimed that former President Trump had called for “bloodshed,” a hoax that President Joe Biden also enjoys and used frequently during his presidential campaign.
Breitbart News has previously exposed the hoax, with Trump talking about economic damage to the auto industry.
Former President Donald Trump predicted Saturday night that the U.S. auto industry would suffer an economic “catastrophe” if he wasn't elected and China was able to import large amounts of its products.
…
Even after Trump campaign spokesman Steven Chang clarified that Trump was clearly talking about the impact of offshoring on the domestic auto industry and his plans to raise tariffs on foreign-made cars, critics in the political and mainstream media deliberately manipulated Trump's words to try to infer intentions on his behalf.
“The unscrupulous Joe Biden and his campaign are engaging in deceptive and out-of-context edits,” he said.
ABC News hosts David Muir and Lindsey Davis have tried to correct Trump on multiple occasions but have never fact-checked Harris' comments, and they did not do so this time either.
