According to information obtained by Hill, ABC News Group has eliminated political division 538.
The layoff is expected to affect 200 employees, representing less than 6% of the company and Disney Entertainment Network Unit staff. 538 15 employees are being let go.
The Wall Street Journal first reported cuts.
The move is part of a broader integration effort, including changes to ABC's aerial programming, sources told The Hill.
The network's “20/20” and “Nightline” shows are set to be integrated into one broadcast segment, but the production team for “Good Morning America” will be shaved into management supervised by one Simone Swink.
Seni Tienabeso has been appointed to new roles in VP, ABC News Live and several specialist units
ABC cut around 75 jobs last fall under the leadership of Almin Karamehmedovic, who was appointed president of the network last August.
Disney Entertainment Networks also faces workforce cuts amidst a low rating, sources said.
