Abdul Carter Shines at Giants Training Camp

Abdul Carter has so far lived up to the growing hype surrounding him. Every practice seems to build on his reputation.

During a one-on-one drill on Friday, he made the Giants’ offensive lineman look quite outmatched.

Carter executed a spin move that sent John Langyan Jr. flying, prompting the veteran to grab him in mid-motion. A little celebration followed that play.

He also showcased impressive swimming moves against Joshua Ezedo, making it look almost effortless.

His speed was evident when he maneuvered around John Michael Schmitz, almost disappearing from view. Carter’s versatility was on display as he effectively transitioned from a three-point stance to an upright one, highlighting his capability to play in different positions.

In team drills, Carter consistently disrupted plays. For instance, he overpowered tight end Greg Dalcich, almost securing a sack before quarterback Jameis Winston released the ball.

What sets Carter apart is his range of moves, which really challenges the linemen tasked with blocking him.

“A lot of guys struggle to move like he does,” rookie guard Marcus Mbou commented on Friday. “He’s quick and explosively agile.”

“The way he can counter challenges—there’s a fluidity there that’s really impressive,” he added.

In other news, rookie Cam Skattebo left practice early with an undisclosed issue, leaving him visibly frustrated. He had just returned to team drills after missing two practices. Coach Brian Daboll mentioned they were being cautious with him but didn’t elaborate on the injury.

Malik Nabers seemed almost invisible during the camp until he made a standout touchdown catch from rookie Paulson Adebo on a fade route in the end zone. Russell Wilson put the ball in the perfect spot for Nabers to secure the catch.

After that score, Nabers celebrated with a touchdown dance.

On a side note, Friday’s practice was notably extended, lasting over two hours, likely due to the milder temperature compared to previous days.
