Abortion Provider with Troubled History Now Dealing with Medical Board Complaint

ProLife Group Seeks Doctor License Suspension in Abortion Case

A ProLife organization is urging the Medical Board in Washington, D.C. to suspend the licenses of local doctors following allegations of harm inflicted on a woman during abortion procedures.

Dr. Cesare Sant’Angelo, an obstetrician and gynecologist at the Washington Curtain Clinic, is facing serious accusations. Advocates from a Holocaust-survivor group have pointed out his troubling history, stating he has a track record of “putting people’s lives at risk.” The complaints filed with the DC Department of Health include references to three lawsuits linked to the clinic. One of these cases suggests a woman died after suffering from severe bleeding and other complications.

It’s worth noting that the Sant’Angelo clinic had previously made headlines in March 2022 when progressive abortion activists uncovered over 100 deceased babies in a toxic waste container. During Joe Biden’s presidency, there seemed to be no significant action taken against the clinic—rather, the Department of Justice focused on convicting major activists protesting the facility.

In another incident, an employee at Washington Surgi-Clinic declined to provide contact details for Dr. Sant’Angelo, hanging up after realizing they were speaking to a reporter. Attempts to reach the clinic via email also yielded no response.

One of the lawsuits mentions a patient who died in 2010 after a family member attempted to remove a baby following a miscarriage through a dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedure. An autopsy later discovered fetal debris had migrated to her lungs.

Subsequently, another claim from the following year alleges that Sant’Angelo caused “lax and perforate” damage to a woman’s uterus during a D&E procedure, resulting in severe bleeding and other serious issues.

Moreover, the complaint points out that Sant’Angelo misinformed the Maryland Medical Board about his completed education credits for medical license renewal in 2019, having actually completed less than half of the requirements.

There are also concerns regarding Sant’Angelo’s own health; recent video footage shows him entering the clinic with physical support like a cast and cane. The implications are clear: “Doctors who can’t use their arms properly may be compromising patient safety,” which might also breach D.C. regulations.

Previously, Sant’Angelo attracted attention when pro-life activists released video footage of him in 2013, highlighting a disturbing instance where he dismissed concerns from a woman who survived a failed abortion. The law mandates that medical professionals treat born infants with full human regard.

“Dr. Sant’Angelo’s history is troubling, particularly in terms of patient injuries and grave concerns regarding his practice in Washington, D.C.,” the complaint asserts. “His record indicates a pattern of risk to patients’ lives, prompting a necessary review by the medical board.”

The DC Health Regulations and License Management did not respond to requests for comments regarding the situation.
