Jimmy Kimmel Comments on Chicago Crime and Trump

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel recently addressed the crime situation in Chicago, downplaying its severity while critiquing former President Donald Trump’s tough-on-crime stance. He made a peculiar reference to the city’s death toll, jokingly attributing it to “statistics from the worm in the head of RFK JR.”

On Saturday, Kimmel showcased an AI-generated image on his show, calling it “chipocalypse now,” which featured a caption about enjoying “the smell of morning deportation.” He quipped about this depiction, asking, “Is this normal? Do you both do this? Remember when Obama declared war with Orlando?”

Kimmel dubbed Trump “the real AI Joe of the Internet,” joking about the former president’s connection to the film *Apocalypse Now*, suggesting that if Trump were a character, he’d be more like Marlon Brando than Robert Duval.

While discussing Trump’s claim of Chicago being “the most dangerous city in the world,” Kimmel reiterated that this was based on questionable statistics. He humorously added that Trump asked why Chicago was labeled as having a “Department of War,” and when a reporter prompted him about it, the president reacted dramatically.

In Kimmel’s recounting, a reporter asked Trump if he was “threatening to go to war with Chicago,” to which Trump dismissed the notion as “fake news.” Kimmel noted that the president then stated, “Listen, we’re going to clean the city, not go to war,” implying that there was a need to address crime but not through military means.

Kimmel admitted over the weekend that he doesn’t view himself strictly as a “defender of democracy,” while expressing that he’s enjoying a “small thrust” of humor on his show.
