A Long Island man who allegedly downloaded thousands of disturbing images and videos of sexually abused infants and children is back on the streets thanks to New York state's lax bail reform laws.
Richard L. Wolfe Jr., 39, was arrested after Suffolk County Police Department officers received information that the suspect had uploaded sexually explicit images of children to cloud storage, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. was arrested.

Prosecutors slapped the perverted suspect with a 20-count indictment on charges of possession of sexual acts by a child. The charge is non-bailable under state law, meaning he will not be held until he is convicted.
“The fact that prosecutors can't even charge bail for consumers of images and videos of child sexual abuse is wrong and lawmakers need to wake up,” District Attorney Raymond Tierney raged.

According to prosecutors, police began an investigation in August 2022 after receiving a tip and executed a search warrant on his home on July 27, 2023.

He was charged with vomiting Thursday and released on supervised release, prosecutors said.
