A deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans left at least 10 people dead and 35 injured.
A man drove his pickup truck through the crowd and was shot and killed by police at the scene.
FOX News reported that the truck used crossed the border two days ago, but it is unclear whether the driver of the vehicle was inside when it crossed the border.
At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured when a driver plowed his pickup truck into a crowd of people celebrating the New Year on Bourbon Street in New Orleans early Wednesday morning.
After running through the crowd, the driver jumped out of the car and fired at police, police said. Authorities confirmed the brief gunfight ended with the suspect dead at the scene. Police said 35 people injured in the attack were taken to five hospitals in the city.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell declared the incident a “terrorist attack” during a press conference Wednesday morning, and FBI agents confirmed they were investigating the incident as an act of terrorism.
Fox News revealed that the truck used in the attack had a Texas license plate and was tracked into the United States across the southern border in Eagle Pass, Texas, two days before the attack. .
It has not been confirmed whether the suspect was driving the vehicle when crossing the border. Police have not confirmed the attacker's immigration status.
