Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche supports removed Pam Bondi

Blanche Defends Bondi’s Role Amid Controversy

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche firmly stated on Thursday that Pam Bondi’s management of files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein did not play a role in President Trump’s decision to let her go.

“Much of what you just mentioned about the attorney general’s situation simply isn’t accurate,” Blanche told Jesse Watters during his first interview since his appointment. He reiterated, “I’ve never heard President Trump claim that everything regarding the attorney general was linked to the Epstein file.”

Watters noted reports suggesting Trump was displeased with Bondi’s handling of the Epstein case and leaks regarding FBI plans to release documents related to Rep. Eric Swalwell’s ties to Chinese spies.

When asked if Bondi had tipped off Swalwell, Blanche dismissed the idea, saying, “I don’t believe that for a second. I just don’t.”

The President has voiced his frustrations over the lack of advancements in prosecuting political opponents. Back in September, Trump expressed his anger on Truth Social about Bondi not pursuing charges against figures like former FBI Director James Comey, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Sen. Adam Schiff, asserting their guilt while lamenting that “nothing will be done.”

Blanche acknowledged that the President’s dissatisfaction stems from the Justice Department’s struggles to confront his adversaries effectively. “I think the President is frustrated, and I think everyone shares that sentiment,” he said. He emphasized that the last four years have been unacceptable and must not happen again.

In his reflection on managing the Department of Justice, Blanche expressed gratitude for Bondi’s achievements. “I feel honored to serve as acting director,” he remarked. He praised Bondi, stating, “She has truly made our country safer. We have improved the Justice Department, and we owe her a debt of gratitude for her contributions.”

Blanche can serve in this acting capacity for up to 210 days. Should President Trump wish to appoint him permanently, he would need confirmation from the Republican-led Senate.

There have been ongoing rumors about Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin potentially being considered for a permanent role in Bondi’s place.
