Some activist groups organize a boycott A company that drops diversity, equity and inclusion programs and calls its efforts “Latin Frieze.”
Many companies implemented DEI policies in response to the posthumous uprising of George Floyd in police custody, but many decisions rethink the decision due to conservative media backlash. President Donald Trump's election persuaded businesses to remove the program.
“All we can do is send a message to Donald Trump's supporters.”
Today, the backlash against backlash is organized by famous Labour leader and feminist activist Dolores Fuerta.
“If you don't respect our community, you shouldn't have our dollars,” Fuerta said of the boycott.
Actor John Legoizamo, best known for his role in “Pests,” also took part in the fight to keep Day. On social media, he called on Tennessee Senators to boycott the anti-DEI store on February 28th.
“February 28th boycott my Latino and black families! Don't use the dime!” He wrote.
“If you've never heard of it, there will be an economic power outage on February 28th,” the message read. “This means you won't buy anything unless it's from a small business. There's definitely nothing gasoline or fast food from places like Target, Walmart, Amazon. Put your words out. ! .
Dr. Caroline Chen, a business professor at San Jose State University, told KNTV-TV that boycotts could be successful, but that only happens if it lasts for more than a few days.
“If it's two or three months, it's going to be a big breakthrough in economically hurting certain businesses,” Chen said.
She noted that Latinos represent around $3.5 trillion in purchasing power.
Race activist Al Sharpton called for boycotts to the companies that dropped Day, but he said that after his councils gather, boycotters will target two companies and focus on which one I said I chose.
“All we can do is send a message to supporters of Donald Trump. “We don't want to support our community, so our community is not going to support you,” Fuerta said. I added.
