Mark Hamill’s Controversial Post on Trump Draws Backlash
A mock image depicting former President Donald Trump in a lifeless state has stirred controversy, shared by “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill. He expressed that Trump should have to face accountability for his alleged crimes.
The White House responded sharply, labeling Hamill as “one sick individual” after the AI-generated photo spread across social media.
“These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves,” a White House representative stated on social media. “This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”
Hamill’s post included a grim image of Trump beneath a tombstone surrounded by flowers, engraved with “Donald J. Trump 1946–2024.” In his post, Hamill reflected that the former president should endure “witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms” and face consequences for his actions.
The actor, who gained fame as Luke Skywalker, has previously been vocal about his critiques of Trump. In fact, he once even contemplated a move to the UK or Ireland following Trump’s 2024 election victory.
Eventually, Hamill deleted the unsettling image and later apologized on the same platform, clarifying his intention.
“I was wishing him the opposite of dead, but apologize if you found the image inappropriate,” he wrote.
