Nick Offerman Criticizes Dennis Quaid for Trump Support
Nick Offerman, known for his role in Parks and Recreation, has labeled Dennis Quaid “crazy” for backing President Donald Trump. Offerman, who starred alongside Quaid in the 2025 film Sovereign, expressed that Quaid had kept his political views under wraps for quite some time.
In an appearance on Jon Lovett’s podcast, Lovett or Leave It, Offerman criticized Hollywood’s tendency to be intolerant toward non-leftist beliefs, particularly when it comes to Christian values. He remarked on Quaid’s surprising shift, saying, “Dennis Quaid is in it, and unfortunately, he’s just some crazy Trump guy with a gospel record,” emphasizing he was speaking about real life, not just the film.
Offerman recounted a moment after they finished watching the movie, where Quaid unexpectedly showcased a gospel country record and performed a Trump-related song with Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. Offerman was taken aback, saying, “We were like, ‘What?'” He expressed disappointment, mentioning that Quaid had been a hero of his and a respected actor.
The actor then suggested that Quaid displayed “very crazy” tendencies, similar to those of his brother, Randy Quaid. “He was so crazy that he left,” Offerman commented about Randy, alleging that Dennis had similarly kept his views a secret until recently.
Previously, Offerman had been outspoken about his disdain for Quaid’s conservative views. Meanwhile, Quaid, who has claimed a net worth of around $25 million, has criticized Trump and the Republican Party, asserting that the nation’s wealth is unfairly enriching the super-rich.
On the other hand, Offerman continues to push his progressive ideals actively. During the recent presidential campaign, he faced backlash for mocking older voters who didn’t support Kamala Harris. Additionally, he has been a vocal advocate for getting vaccinated against COVID-19 during the pandemic.
