Mingus Reedus Faces Assault Charges

Mingus Reedus, the 25-year-old son of The Walking Dead and Saint of Bundok actor Norman Reedus, has been charged with assaulting a woman, among other allegations.

He was taken into custody in New York City on Saturday. Reports from the police indicate that they found a 33-year-old woman with minor injuries to her neck and legs.

Initially, Mingus faced one count of assault along with a breathing criminal charge, according to the NYPD. Additional charges later increased this to four, as noted by the New York Crown Court.

On August 23rd, Mingus appeared in court, where he pleaded not guilty to all five charges. His next court date is set for August 26th.

During the hearing, Mingus, alongside his attorney Priya Chaudhry, maintained his innocence. Chaudhry emphasized that evidence was lacking, pointing out that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office opted to pursue a misdemeanor charge against Mingus.

She also mentioned the judge’s decision to release him without bail, interpreting it as a significant acknowledgment of his presumed innocence.

Mingus had faced legal issues previously, having been arrested in September 2021 following an altercation with a 24-year-old woman in New York City. Though her identity remains undisclosed, it was reported that he allegedly punched her during their dispute. She required treatment for injuries to her left eye at a local hospital.

After that incident, Mingus claimed that the woman and her friend had approached him and his companion at a festival. Ultimately, he agreed to a plea deal in March 2022 related to lesser charges of disorderly conduct.
