Actor Receives Probation in Connection with Fatal Overdose Case
A Hollywood actor was sentenced to probation and community service in relation to the tragic overdoses of model Christy Giles, 24, and her friend, Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26. Their bodies were discovered outside a Los Angeles hospital.
Brant Osborn, 46, was arrested in 2021 while working on NCIS: Los Angeles. He pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting after the fact, resulting in a sentence of two years’ probation and 480 hours of community service, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
David Pearce, a 43-year-old Hollywood producer and club promoter, was convicted in February of first-degree murder concerning the deaths of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola.
Michael Ansbach, a cinematographer known for roles in projects like “Dancing with the Stars,” was also arrested related to the case but did not face any criminal charges.
The night of November 13, 2021, Giles told her husband, Jean Cilliers, that she and Cabrales-Arzola were going to a rave at a warehouse in East Los Angeles. They met Osborn, Pearce, and Ansbach there before heading to Pearce’s apartment in Beverly Hills, as indicated by the District Attorney’s office.
Pearce administered a combination of fentanyl and GHB to the women, leading to their overdoses, the DA reported.
After arriving at the apartment, Giles texted Cabrales-Arzola with “Let’s go,” complete with a wide-eyed emoji. Around 30 minutes later, Cabrales-Arzola ordered an Uber, but they never got into the vehicle.
Approximately 11 hours later, Giles’ body was found outside a hospital in Culver City. A couple of hours afterward, Cabrales-Arzola was located outside another hospital, where she was eventually taken off life support 11 days later, just a day shy of her 27th birthday.
Actor David Murietta Jr., 39, said Osborn recounted the “craziest weekend” of his life during filming in November 2021. “He shared details about the party and how the girls had a lot of drugs,” Murietta mentioned.
Osborn claims he left briefly for an errand, while Murietta recounted that upon returning, he learned from Pearce that Giles had died. “He checked her pulse, freaked out, and didn’t want to call 911,” Murietta said.
They decided against seeking help, opting instead to drive Giles’ body to a hospital in Culver City. Upon returning, they found Cabrales-Arzola in poor condition and drove her to a second hospital to avoid detection, according to Murietta.
The District Attorney reported that Osborn was present in Pearce’s Toyota Prius when the women were dropped off at the hospital.
Osborn’s acting credits include a minor role in a 2014 episode of “Nurse Jackie.” Meanwhile, the DA’s office noted that Pearce had made troubling comments regarding drug-facilitated assaults. Seven victims testified about his past violent behavior during his trial.
Pearce was sentenced to 146 years to life in prison.
