South Korean actor Song Jae-lim was reportedly found dead in his apartment Tuesday at the age of 39.
The Seoul Seongdong police said Jae-lim’s body was discovered by a friend that had planned to join him for lunch that day, according to CNN. Police officials said they discovered a note in the actor’s apartment and they indicated that foul play is not suspected at this time, according to CNN. The circumstances surrounding his death and his official cause of death have not been publicly shared at the time of publication.

“Our initial investigation so far, has revealed no signs of criminal activity,” police told CNN.
They provided additional information about the final wishes of the famous actor’s family.
“Since the family did not want an autopsy, we will proceed with transferring the deceased to his family’s custody,” they said, according to CNN.
Police went on to say they planned to continue to investigate Jae-rim’s death in accordance with their standard procedures.
Jae-Lim was a former model that switched gears to pursue his passion for acting. He rose to fame after appearing in K-dramas and began his career in entertainment with a part in the 2009 film, “Actresses.”
His role as a royal guard in the 2012 historical drama, “Moon Embracing the Sun,” catapulted him into the spotlight and he continued to gain popularity during his appearance on the reality show, “We Got Married.”
His last credits were for his performance in the musical, “La Rose De Versailles,” which concluded in October.
Fellow stars from South Korea paid tribute to Jae-lim on social media, as news of his passing spread.
“This is mad… Jae-lim… you were such a cheerful guy… I can’t believe this. I’m so sorry for not contacting you or caring for you enough,” actor Park Ho-san posted on Instagram, alongside a photo of the two of them together.

Jae-lim’s last Instagram post was a mirror-selfie shared Jan. 23, alongside a smiling emoji.
