Marine Ackerman Draws Inspiration from Melania Trump for New Role
Actress Marine Ackerman shared recently that in her upcoming Netflix series, *The Hunter Wives*, she looked to Melania Trump for inspiration in portraying her character, Margo, a complex politician’s wife. During an interview with Vulture, she mentioned that the show’s creative team suggested she channel Trump while playing Margo, a Texas housewife with hidden depths.
“While filming, they described Margo as somewhat similar to Melania Trump, which made me realize the expectations for her shifted when she ‘married this rich man as a woman’ who became politically ambitious,” Ackerman explained. “That was the only reference,” she added.
Character Background Revealed
The show gradually reveals Margo’s difficult past, which includes a challenging upbringing, sex work, and various struggles. As her husband, Jed (played by Dermot Mulroney), decides to run for governor based on a platform of gun rights, anti-abortion views, and traditional marriage, Margo faces the dilemma of protecting her own secrets while supporting his ambitions.
Among her past troubles is an abortion she had after becoming pregnant at a young age, and a murder she had a hand in covering up. These elements add layers to her character, making her an intriguing figure in the narrative.
Ackerman noted that she aimed to embody a “high society” impression, coupled with elements of Trump’s persona. “I’ve witnessed the social scene among the elite, and I think you’re not just looking for authenticity but reflecting how these individuals navigate their lives,” she stated.
She characterized Margo as a “survivor” who makes difficult choices to push forward in life, seemingly reflective of her complicated background.
Melania Trump has frequently found herself in the spotlight, often facing scrutiny since her husband’s presidential campaign began in 2016. But she doesn’t shy away from addressing false narratives. Recently, her lawyer demanded the removal of comments from a podcast episode that implied she met Donald Trump through a modeling agency linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
It’s clear that the Trumps remain an enigmatic fixture in public life, and Ackerman’s portrayal brings an additional layer of intrigue to an already complex figure.
