Actress Roni Anderson’s Cause of Death Revealed

The cause of actress Roni Anderson’s passing, widely recognized from her role in “WKRP in Cincinnati,” has been clarified. According to a death certificate acquired by a media outlet, Anderson died from metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, with no other causes noted.

This type of cancer, described by the National Agency for Rare Disabilities, is quite rare and originates in the uterus, often spreading to organs such as the lungs and liver, which can lead to serious complications.

A spokesperson for Anderson confirmed her passing on August 3rd at the age of 79. She passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles while surrounded by her family after a prolonged illness.

Memories and Reflections

Barbara Eden, a close friend and fellow actress from “I Dream of Jeannie,” expressed her sorrow at Anderson’s death, saying, “I feel very lonely because she’s not here.” She remembered Anderson as a special, kind, and sweet person, noting, “I can’t say anything wrong about her.”

The two women first crossed paths in 1981 during a Bob Hope special. Eden reminisced about a humorous moment when Anderson advised her on an outfit, showing a glimpse of their supportive friendship.

As Anderson’s family shared in their statement, they are heartbroken for the loss of their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, Anderson had long aspired to be an actress, moving to Hollywood in 1975. Before becoming known as Jennifer Marlowe on “WKRP,” she appeared in various shows like “Three’s Company” and “The Love Boat.”

Reflecting on her career, Anderson once commented on the unexpected label of being a “sex symbol,” indicating there were times she didn’t quite know how she felt about that title. Still, she embraced her varied roles with gratitude.

“I was lucky enough to be able to do so many different things,” she said, expressing pride in her journey. Her family continues to remember her fondly, sharing stories and memories that reflect the joy she brought into their lives.

Anderson adopted her son, Quinton Anderson Reynolds, in 1988 with her then-husband, famous actor Burt Reynolds. Friends and family recall her as not only a talented actress but a devoted mother, emphasizing the care she put into her family life.
