Actress Mia Farrow Accuses Republicans Shortly After Deadly Shooting in Minnesota

Reaction to Minneapolis School Shooting

Actress Mia Farrow quickly condemned the Republican Party and the National Rifle Association (NRA) following a tragic shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident left two children dead and seven others in critical condition, with a total of 14 children and three adults injured. Farrow stated, “Reasonable gun laws are necessary, yet many Republican lawmakers seem to prioritize the millions they receive from gun manufacturers and the NRA.”

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara reported that the shooter took their own life. A senior White House official confirmed that the suspect was identified as Robin Westman, who had transitioned from Robert in 2020. Disturbing videos purportedly from Westman displayed threats against Donald Trump, alongside anti-Christian messages. Both local authorities and the FBI have corroborated the shooter’s identity.

Farrow’s political critique came soon after the shooting. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) emphasized the need for stronger measures to combat gun violence, while Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) advocated for a nationwide ban on assault weapons. Klobuchar remarked, “We can’t just address this issue at the state level; it has to be a national initiative.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey expressed the urgency of action, saying, “It’s not just about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying when this happened.”

In response to the tragedy, President Trump issued a declaration honoring the victims. He stated, “In accordance with my authority as President, I am ordering that flags be flown at half-staff to remember those who lost their lives in this senseless violence.”
