Actress Minnie Driver has denigrated supporters of former President Donald Trump, claiming they “pretty much love a little racist attitude” from the candidate. She also insulted America’s founding fathers, saying “mothers” should have been involved in founding the country.

“It really does expose 70 million people who really want racist attitudes, who really want no immigration policy and who really want to dismantle our environmental protection agencies,” Driver said.
“They’ve always been there,” she added. “They weren’t created by him. He was just a symptom, and now they have a mascot.”
Driver, a British national who became a US citizen in 2017, said he believes Trump should be in prison.
“Of course he deserves to go to prison. He certainly does,” she said.
“But the money he raised in two days, $53 million in 48 hours, and the fact that our Founding Fathers, while things might have been different if our mothers had been involved, left no thought in our Constitution that Americans would be stupid enough to vote for a felon, reflects nothing in the judiciary about what would happen if he wins.”
Driver lived in Los Angeles for many years but recently returned to the UK.
Asked if she would live in the US again if Trump was re-elected, she replied: “If I lived in a Republican state, no, I couldn’t.”
The actress has long been a vocal opponent of Trump and his family, and in 2019 she recorded a dramatic reading of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report that many on the left expected would prove the then-president had colluded with Russia in 2016. After comedian Samantha Bee caused controversy by calling Ivanka Trump a “bitch,” Driver said Trump’s daughter didn’t even deserve that misogynistic slur.
