ANAHEIM, CA – Kyle McLean was out of the sick line-up on Sunday, so the islanders tried something out of the field on the left.
With the intention of the islanders playing like 12 and 8 years old, defender Adam Bokvist, who focused on the fourth line at MacLean's spot, focused on MacLean's spot with the islanders focused on the fourth line.
“I asked him if he was open,” coach Patrick Roy said before the duck's 4-1 defeat. “He said anything that would help the team win, and that's what we want.”
Scott Mayfield has returned to defense, but Matt Martin, who was revitalized in the sanctuary where he was injured on Saturday, was healthy wounds.
Boqvist ultimately played ICE at 10:52. That 8:13 appeared even stronger, taking one shot online between Pierre Engvall and Marc Gatcomb, and Engvall faced off.
The current setup of the Islander roster has 13 forwards and nine defensive men, which can help with this if the forward comes out.
And Boqvist, the team's most offensive defender, was the first choice for the coaching staff to step up as a forward.
“Thank you for that,” Roy said. “I was grateful for what he did and I thought he had a good game.”
“At the NHL level, it may be the first level [for him]Roy said. “But at the same time, he's very good offensively. He plays low for these guys. [Marc Gatcomb and Pierre Engvall]and he will be in a hurry. We'll see what happens. It's about starting the game. ”
After being operated from an injured reserve on Saturday, Marcus Hogberg went online for the islanders on Sunday, giving Ilya Sorokin a rare holiday.
“He worked very hard after his injuries,” Roy said of Hogberg. [goalie coach] clown [Greco]. He had not received the shot, but he was preparing himself.

“When the shot came, he was fully certain that the puck wouldn't go to his fingers, so he hit the shaft of his stick and went to his fingers. Overall, it's great to see someone working so hard on that occasion. …The last game he played against Carolina, he played so well. I'm happy to see him.”
Hogberg, who could be the backup for the rest of the season, had at best Semion Balmov's status vague and stopped 22 of 25 shots in front of leaky islanders' defense.
“First of all, it was fun to play again and play in the game,” Hogberg said. “It's a little rusty, but the more the game lasted, it helped me. It felt more comfortable.”
Kyle Palmieri missed the final 7:38 of the second term with obvious injuries but returned to play third.
