Hollywood Mourns the Loss of Robert Duvall

The news of Robert Duvall’s passing sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. The acclaimed actor, known for his roles in iconic films like “The Godfather,” “Apocalypse Now,” and “To Kill A Mockingbird,” passed away on Sunday at the age of 95.

Tributes poured in from many celebrities, including Adam Sandler, Jamie Lee Curtis, Randy Quaid, and Piers Morgan.

Sandler expressed his admiration, saying, “Funny as hell. Strong as hell. One of the greatest actors we ever had. Such a great man to talk to and laugh with. Loved him so much. We all did. So many movies to choose from that were legendary. Watch them when you can.”

Randy Quaid remembered Duvall’s long career, noting, “Now that Tony and Robert are both departed to heaven, I hope they’re laughing together. I have never seen an actor rip a director a new one quite like Duvall did on Days of Thunder.”

Alec Baldwin shared a video on Instagram, praising Duvall for his impactful performance in “To Kill A Mockingbird,” where he delivered a powerful presence without uttering a single word.

Piers Morgan and Stephen King joined the chorus of remembrances, reflecting on Duvall’s remarkable contributions to cinema.

Stephen King quoted one of Duvall’s famous lines, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning!” in his tribute.

The most heartfelt message came from Duvall’s wife, who shared the news of his death via Facebook on February 16. “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything,” she wrote.

She continued, sharing insights about his passion: “His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all.”

She concluded, “Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.”
