Adam Schiff Demands Senate Reject Kash Patel, Long-time Nemesis, as FBI Director

California Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D) on Sunday called on the Senate to reject the nomination of Kash Patel to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), continuing his long-running personal vendetta against Patel.

Mr. Schiff has been trying to destroy Mr. Patel since 2017. Mr. Patel helped expose the fact that members of the outgoing Obama administration abused their power to “reveal” the names of Americans caught on foreign wiretaps. Wrongful termination and prosecution of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn over false allegations of collusion with Russia.

Schiff, then ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, wrote: memo In it, he unsuccessfully tried to refute the Republican majority's argument that the FBI's surveillance of Carter Page, then an aide to candidate Donald Trump, was justified.

Schiff's claims were later debunked by a Justice Department Inspector General report, validating Republican concerns about the FBI's abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) courts to target President Trump.

During Trump's first impeachment inquiry, which Schiff led as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Democrats tried in vain to find evidence that Patel was a “back channel” for Russia to Trump. . impeachment report quoted The phone call between then-Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Patel was nothing more than the fact that the committee violated the president's Sixth Amendment rights by spying on his legal counsel. .

Schiff then served on the unilateral Jan. 6 commission, which again went after Patel. Once again, no wrongdoing was found. released Record of private interview with committee.

Patel's claim that he wants to arrest media personnel and the government declaration The “conspirators” who broke the law to bring down President Trump should be investigated and prosecuted.

That could include Schiff himself, who violated the rights of witnesses during the impeachment and Jan. 6 committee investigations. Lied to the public about Russian “collusion” while mentioning access to intelligence information. And by failing to preserve for review the documentary evidence collected by the commission on January 6, it denied defendants in many criminal cases access to potentially exculpatory evidence in their defenses.

As of Monday morning, Schiff had not commented on President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter for crimes dating back to Hunter's appointment to the board of corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma. Mr. Schiff's entire case against Mr. Trump has no reason to suspect that Hunter Biden's role was corrupt, and that Mr. Trump abused his power for political gain by asking Ukraine to investigate the matter. It was based on this false assertion.
