Adam Scott among 3 PGA Tour players to make surge, take complete advantage on Moving Day

Ludvig Oberg may have maintained his lead at the Genesis Scottish Open, but a number of PGA Tour players made the most of the moving day.

On Saturday, the Renaissance Club golf course worked to the advantage, causing many players to drop their scores.

Moving Day is all about climbing up the leaderboard and these five guys did just that, they put up numbers that were good enough to be in contention for the win in Scotland.

Let’s take a look at who had the biggest success in the third round of the Genesis Scottish Open.

3. Collin Morikawa

This is another PGA Tour event, and it’s the week Collin Morikawa is in contention to win. He shot a 4-under 66 on Saturday to move him to 13 under par overall. He’s four strokes behind Ludwig Oberg, who is at 17 under.

Six birdies and two bogeys put him in great position to make a move on Sunday.

The two-time major champion has one runner-up finish, six top-10s and 12 top-25s this season.

2. Adam Scott

Adam Scott hasn’t been in contention for a championship in a long time, but he’s back in the mix this week at the Genesis Scottish Open. The PGA Tour veteran shot a 6-under 64 on Saturday to move up to 12th in the rankings.

Scott had four birdies in the first nine holes to shoot 31, then three more birdies and a bogey to finish in 33. The Australian is on a roll and is one of the most experienced players entering the fight to win.

The finish is Scott’s best since the 2020 Genesis Invitational, where he was tied for the lead heading into the final day. He hasn’t won in more than four years and is looking to end that streak.

1. Robert McIntyre

Robert McIntyre is attempting to become just the second Scottish golfer to win the Scottish Open. The only other Scot to win the event was Colin Montgomerie, back in 1999. McIntyre finished runner-up to Rory McIlroy in 2023.

Now he’s trying to wrap up the deal with a second championship in 2024. The RBC Canadian Open winner shot a stellar 7-under 63 to move up to 13th place, the lowest score of the day. He challenged Oberg but it wasn’t enough.

MacIntyre recorded seven birdies, one eagle and two bogeys on Saturday and is riding high on the final day, and as a Scottish golfer, fans will be rooting for him.

Will he be able to make it?
