While Ricci has called child acting a positive “escape” for him, he told the New York Post in 2018 that he had no plans to send his son into the industry.

“I think it's child abuse to make a child famous,” she said of her son Freddie, who was 4 at the time. “Once he grows up and learns and understands that it's an art form, he can pursue a career in acting if he wants to.”

She added: “Fame is not good for kids. It's really not good. There are so many examples of it not being good for kids. I'm not going to take the risk. Why sacrifice the most important thing in life for that?”
