If anyone thought the story of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest was over when the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) dropped the charges, they’d be sadly mistaken. Nearly a month after Scheffler’s arrest at the PGA Championship, more details about the events of that morning continue to be released.
Additional photos were released Friday of arresting officer Brian Gillis’ pants, which were described in the police report as “irreparably damaged.”
As soon as the video hit the Internet, PGA Tour golf fans jumped at the opportunity to attack Officer Gillis again, and every new piece of information about Scheffler’s arrest seems to add fuel to the fire.
This latest update has taken trolling by golf fans to a new level, making the reactions hilarious as the photos do indeed show minor injuries, making Scheffler’s original accusations even more ridiculous.
X user Nick Kurtz Joke about your injury People will regret it because Razor scooters have destroyed many people’s ankles.
Shooter McGavin also got a lot of success with his jokes.
Another funny joke comes from user W, aka @ZitiDoggsGolf: “Try telling an Italian mother with a sewing kit that these are damaged beyond repair.” Many mothers and grandmothers would probably repair those pants within 15 minutes.
I hope no more information comes to light from this case because the more that comes to light the worse it will reflect on LMPD.
Scheffler currently sits atop the standings at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, and is looking to win his third signature event title in 2024. He has also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the RBC Heritage.
