Adele announces hiatus from music: ‘I will not see you for an incredibly long time’

Adele is retiring from performing for a while.

Fans shared TikTok videos The singer recently shared the photo during a performance in Munich, Germany, where she said she was planning an extended break after her Las Vegas show ends.

“I have 10 shows left and then I won't be able to see you all for an incredibly long time. But you all will be so dear to my heart.”

A representative for Adele did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Adele has had a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace since November 2022.

She initially announced the permanent show for 2021, but then postponed the tour entirely just a few months later, surprising and disappointing fans. In an emotional video, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer told fans that the quality of her show wasn't up to par and that she and her crew weren't ready to start on time.

Since the show began, Adele has extended her performance dates through 2023 and then most of 2024. Her final show is scheduled to run from October 25th to November 23rd this year.

“I don't have any plans for new music,” she told the outlet, “I just want to take a big break after this and do some other creative things for a little while.”

She also told the outlet, “I don't like being famous. I'm just happy to be able to make music all the time.”

Earlier this year, the “Hello” singer also spoke about struggling with the pressures of fame.

During a concert in February, she spoke about photos taken of her at an NBA game in which she appeared upset, explaining that she didn't look happy because people were photographing her against her will, and that she never liked being famous in the first place.

“Remember that viral meme where I looked like I didn't care?” she asked the crowd, referring to a photo taken at the NBA All-Star Game in February 2022. She imitated the face she made in the famous photo.

She explained that she hesitated many times about being filmed during the match, but ended up doing it anyway.

“The reason it looked like I had filler in my lips, I don't need filler because I was born with big lips, and the reason I looked like a different person was because I was in a bad mood. I was like, 'These motherfuckers are back and filming me against my will,'” she said in the video recorded by a fan.

She added: “I didn't realise it was on TV, I just thought it was in the room.”

“I ignored them and looked everywhere but the camera. I was getting really annoyed because I asked them not to film me, but I guess I was asking by going. Plus my face is so easily made into a meme, there's nothing I can do about it.”
