Adrian Newey has made his decision, per report

According to Italian media reports, legendary F1 designer and engineer Adrian Newey has decided on his future in the sport.

Reportedly Italian Outlets Auto SprintThe decision sees him join Aston Martin on a four-year, $100 million deal. Newey is said to have been influenced by Lawrence Stroll’s vision for the team’s future, which includes the construction of a huge new campus based at Silverstone. Additionally, the team will switch to Honda power units for the 2026 season in line with new regulations.

Auto Sprint They also claim that due to the wording of Newey’s current contract with Red Bull, the deal won’t be announced until next month. The report states: “All contractual relationships between the designer and Red Bull prohibit any kind of communication that isn’t related to the employment relationship until August, so the agreement is expected to be announced in early September.”

Ever since it was announced before the Miami Grand Prix that Newey would be leaving Red Bull at the end of this season, the legendary designer has been linked with several teams, including Ferrari, Williams and, most recently, McLaren, with Aston Martin also in the running. If the reports are true, it seems Newey has decided to throw in his lot with Stroll and company.

However, Aston Martin did not confirm the news this morning. Planet F1 The team said: “Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team is an incredibly exciting project with Lawrence Stroll’s vision, a state-of-the-art new technology campus and exciting partnerships with Aramco and Honda. There are many high-profile people from all walks of life on the team involved in the project but we have nothing to announce yet.”
