Advocacy group at the forefront of pushing woke capitalism plans on softening its approach

The Human Rights Campaign, an advocacy group that was on the forefront of pushing awakened capitalism, now says it plans to soften its approach, Post has learned.

Sponsors of companies who complain directly to the organization say they are clearly political in promoting their agenda. The group says it is refocusing its efforts on its core mission as an LGBTQ+ civil rights organization.

HRC may be best known for its corporate equality index. This is a score in which companies adhere to racial and gender preferences in recruitment.

Increasingly, businesses are not taking part in the investigation following a court ruling that racial preferences are illegal and that the Trump administration's efforts to enforce the employment practices of colored brands are illegal.

However, companies that maintain ties with the HRC demand less obvious politics, people with knowledge of the matter say.

They are told by HRC officials that the group is moving in that direction.

“We hope they will return to civil rights groups,” said an executive at the major bank responsible for their relationship with HRC. “They told us they would. The HRC did good to help mobilize gay marriages to legalize, but they went too far in politics.”

The HRC representative did not reply to requests for comment.
