Guns n' Roses drummer Matt Sorum said Steven Tyler won't be on the tour again despite singing at a recent charity concert.
“It was a really big moment for him because he hurt so badly,” Solm said at the Johnny Grammy Awards Viewing Party, which benefits his charity fund after injuring his larynx last year. He recently spoke to WBAB Radio about his Jam Johnny Grammy Award performance.
“Is he going to tour again now? No, he's not. I'll explain this to people. Stephen said, it's a lot of pressure and you wouldn't if you weren't a singer. So you can't put yourself in the harshness of a full global tour. “I understand what he's going through, but he's 77 years old and he's a perfectionist. And if he doesn't sing properly, it bothers him.”
Last August, Aerosmith announced that the band would retire from touring more than 50 years after Tyler injured his larynx while singing on stage.

“You know, Stephen's voice is an unparalleled instrument. He is very enthusiastic about speaking up to the spot before his injury,” the statement read. “We have seen him struggle despite having the best medical team by his side.
“Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his voice injury is impossible. We, as a brother band, are heartbreaking, difficult, yet necessary, to retire from the touring stage. I've made a decision.”

Solm added that Tyler is willing to pre-record his voice as other artists do.

“He's not going to put it on tape, like 80% of the people out there are making your money. He's not on tape, he doesn't change the key to the song,” he says. I've explained it. “It's him. He said, 'I'm an artist. I'm a singer. This is my band. I've been doing this for 50 years. If you can't perfect, I can. Do it , “And I respect that.”
Solm said he suggested Tyler sing four or five songs.

“It was only once. Maybe he'll do it again and probably do the same amount of songs, but for a guy like him, it's a lot of pressure. He explains it to fans commenting. I wanted to do it.”
He said, “To put him on stage, I cried. I just hope that he can do more because he's beautiful and in his blood. And then, 'Oh, okay!” It's us That's what I'm doing. ”
