Tiger Woods Involved in Car Crash and Arrested for DUI
Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car accident recently that left his vehicle overturned. According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods’ car was moving at a high rate of speed when it struck another vehicle.
Due to the impact, Woods’ car ended up on its side, making it difficult for him to exit through the driver’s door. He had to climb out via the passenger side instead.
Interestingly, another driver, along with a bystander, assisted Woods in getting out of his vehicle post-collision. The situation was explained in an arrest affidavit, which highlighted that both Woods and the driver of the other SUV were the only occupants in their vehicles.
Authorities later arrested Woods on suspicion of drunk driving after he reportedly refused to take a property damage and blood alcohol level tests. They discovered prescription opioids in his possession, specifically hydrocodone, a pain medication.
This marks Woods’ second DUI arrest within the last decade. The first incident occurred in 2017 when he was found asleep at the wheel in similar circumstances. He had earlier mentioned to law enforcement that he has undergone numerous surgeries, including seven on his back and over twenty on his legs, explaining his use of multiple medications.
Overall, the incident has raised concerns among his close ones, including his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, regarding his well-being following such a precarious situation.
Woods’ past experiences and this recent incident have certainly put him back in the spotlight, and it’s safe to say many are hoping for his swift recovery and improved decision-making moving forward.
