Mali currently lead Group E with four points. South Africa and Namibia are right on their tails with three each and Tunisia are on the brink of exiting the tournament having only drawn once. None of the four teams’ current position is secure and all of them bar Mali could be bottom of the group come full-time.

Because of Afcon’s format, four of the six third-ranked teams also advance to the last 16. So what happens today doesn’t only affect the teams playing. One of those teams is the host nation, Ivory Coast, who need a few results to go their way to advance.

important events
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: After fouling Makgopa, Kekurida tries to claim it was a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge, but the referee awards a free kick. The shot went well and Mbala's header just missed the near post. I think Ben Said could have covered it, but it was a good chance for South Africa!
Namibia 0-0 Mali: Mari almost scored an own goal under pressure from Museu. We are lucky that we only allow corner kicks that lead to shots that go wide.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Mudau goes down with an ankle injury. Medical workers are on the pitch and the camera pans to the fans. There was a great stand-up from both fans.
Play will continue while Madau receives treatment on the sideline.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Morena will challenge you even from a distance! It was a great shot and despite the huge deflection it looked like it was going to be sucked into the top corner, but the ball ended up just on the other side of the post. She leaves for Tunisia.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Tunisia is asleep. They lost the ball in midfield and South Africa countered. The North African team certainly isn't playing like a team on the verge of elimination.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: This is a game that looks more open so far.Mari is coming again very close Go to score. Traore made a pass that cut through a great defence. He found the head of Shinayoko who fired a header from close range.
Then immediately go into a cooling break.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: ah! Tunisia stomps on the back and wins a free kick. But replays show it was another redshirt who stepped on his teammate's back. That's pretty interesting.
Anyway, Ben Slimane's free kick went out of bounds, so it didn't really matter.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: And suddenly we're on the other end. Diabaté received the touch and curled the shot with his strong legs, but Kazapua had to use his two strong hands to save.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: Sharlilu jumped on the ball that crossed Mali's defensive line and entered the box. Although his cross was poor, he showed his determination to snatch the second ball before the referee ruled it out.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: Will this high line from Mali cause them any problems? It was Namibia who scored the first shot on target of the match. Chiueza controlled the wild ball and aimed for the far post from an angle, but Diarra parried the ball away before it could hit the post.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Makgopa, who is probably in the box receiving this type of ball, puts in a cross that Morena tries to head in, but he cannot control it.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: close! Tunisia won a corner kick, which flew towards the near post. The red shirts try to get into the end all at once, but the pace of the ball seems too fast.
Note: Tunisia must win to have any chance of advancing.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: Namibia are trying to take long shots from the start rather than breaking through Mali's midfield… not the best idea considering Mali also has height at the back. Won a free kick from about 40 yards on the left side.
The ball hit Mali's Traola, but Traola missed the ball completely. It may have been bad, but Mali cleared before Namibia could pounce on the rolling ball.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Sithole was taken down after a rough tackle, but seemed okay to continue, albeit with a limp.
South Africa 0-0 Tunisia: Tunisia gets an early corner kick. Sheffield United's Ben Slimane receives it and finds Melia, but the centre-back is unable to get a shot on goal. The follow-up corner was left in Williams' hands.
Namibia 0-0 Mali: Mari doesn't care that it's already over. They quickly take the lead. Easily slipping between the lines and reaching the final third, Bissouma tries his luck with an early shot, but it's blocked.

Late tonight, Zambia will face strong Morocco in Group F, and Patson Daka performed well. The Leicester striker struggled for game time in the Championship but became the first Afcon player to score at any age level.

Ivory Coast is receiving a lot of attention. It would be a huge blow for the organizers to pull out at this stage of the tournament, especially given the hype surrounding this new generation. To move forward, you need:
-
If Namibia loses to Mali and Tunisia fails to beat South Africa, or defeats South Africa by a score of 6-0 or higher in Group E.
-
Morocco beat Zambia in Group F
Confused? I don't blame you. As soon as the goals are scored tonight, we'll give you an update on who currently advances.
I can say now that I don't think so, as Tunisia scored one goal in the first two games and only had five shots on target. think They will probably score more than 6 goals. Famous last words, as they say.
Even if Ivory Coast won, they would sack their manager Jean-Louis Gasset. Chris Hughton was also relieved of his duties in Ghana.

preamble
Good evening and welcome to the final day of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group Stage. So much excitement, drama and upset has led us to this moment. May it continue for a long time.
We know 12 of the 16 teams that will be in this year's finals, but there are still plenty of teams to play.
Mali currently leads Group E with four points. South Africa and Namibia are hot on the trail with three wins each, while Tunisia is in danger of being eliminated from the tournament with just one draw. None of the four teams' current standings are stable, and any team could end up at the bottom of their group, barring Mali playing full-time.
Due to Afcon's format, four of the six third-place teams will also advance to the last 16. So what happened today doesn't just affect the teams that play. One of those teams is host nation Ivory Coast, who need some results to advance.
