After Election Dems Will Ditch Filibuster to Legalize Abortion Nationally

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Katie Toole Report” that if Democrats win a majority in Congress and the White House, she would abolish the filibuster and legalize abortion nationwide. Then he said.

“People have to look at abortion as a democratic issue. It’s about the freedom of women to make their own decisions. It’s a personal decision, and it’s an economic addition to the table of American families,” Pelosi said. It’s a decision, whether and when they can expand or start a family.”

“Do you think it’s going to be a bigger issue at the polls this time around?” Mr. Toole asked.

“Well, no matter what he says, it’s true that there’s going to be a national abortion ban. That would be terrible for our country,” Pelosi said.

she continued. “We must win at everything. We have a vision for America that is consistent with the vision of our founders, the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, and the aspirations of our nation. We must win the White House with our children and their families.”

Ture asked, “If President Biden is re-elected and has a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate, what could President Biden do to protect abortion access across the country?”

“We can put it into law,” Pelosi said. Roe v. Wade.

“That would require a two-thirds majority in the Senate,” Ture said.

she continued. “No, that’s not true. We currently have 60 votes in the Senate, but if we get 50 plus one in the Senate, 50 plus the vice president, we can overturn the 60 vote rule.”

“It’s the filibuster,” Toole said.

“We filibustered it and it passed by 51 votes. That’s what we have to do,” Pelosi said.
