It was a hit and it made me realize.
Meet Abdul Carter and Jackson Dart.
“I definitely got a good shot from him,” Carter said Friday. “But it’s tough for him. He went back quickly and continued playing throughout the game. So I knew he was a good player.”
“Goodshot” was on the Peach Bowl property, Atlanta, on December 30, 2023, when Ole Miss of Dirt was facing Pennsylvania and Carter.
Dirt was sensational, passing 379 yards and three touchdowns, and then he ran for another TD. He also licked it courtesy of Carter. Ole Miss Won, 38-25.
Who could have imagined that these two would come together as a first round pick for the Giants?
Carter came in third on Thursday night, as expected. Dirt was hanging on the board until the Giants traded up to the first round and selected him on the 25th overall pick.
Both convey similar reminiscence of conflicts on the field. Carter rushes from the middle – he then was an inner linebacker, charging in, creating a clear lane for himself. The dirt declined, but was leveled by Carter with the shock of the chest-on-chest.
Dirt tried to get the throw down, and his arms came forward when he lost the ball he recovered by the Nittany Lions. He was properly controlling an incomplete pass.
“I remember him chasing me early in the game,” Dart said. I hope that the family actually has the opportunity to play with him. I’ve seen what his teammates said about him and how he can set up culture for his team, and I see it exactly the same.”
DART’s almost strip bags are included in most Carter highlight reels.
“I’m a huge Jackson fan,” Carter said. [Peach Bowl] It’s a game, but just looking at how accurate he is, he’s just passing the ball on the plate and knowing he’s a good quarterback.
“He beat us, so if you beat Penn State in such a big game, I know you’re a real deal, especially at quarterback.”
Dirt was asked what stands out about Carter from that one game.
“Hey, he really doesn’t have any weaknesses,” Dart said. He is very versatile. I played him when he was playing in the box in the linebacker position, and how he then confused the game.

“I remember remembering the play we still had in a short yard, where he chased from the end of the line of scrimmage to the other side of the field, then headed back to the other side of the field and actually stopped him before reaching the first down.
Both one-round picks performed their first round pick circuit at the team facility, taking photos with general manager Joe Schoen, head coach Brian Daboll and co-owner John Mara. Both players had families to immerse themselves in the afterglow of the draft night experience.
I believe that rookie seasons take a variety of paths. Carter must be the first day starter. DART’s plan is to watch and learn that Russell Wilson starts and Jameis Winston acts as a backup. How quickly the dirt develops, how Wilson plays, and how the Giants season unfolds will determine whether or when dirt will reach the field in 2025.
Not starting is a new experience for DART.
“No matter who I’m playing against, I’m always going out there and going to the ball,” he said. That’s my plan. Attack every day and prepare yourself whenever my time comes. ”
After receiving a call from the Giants, Dart said Eli Manning was one of the first to reach out to him.
Manning also sent DART a “welcome to the Giants” video that the team shared on social media. Manning and his father, Archie, starring in Ole Miss quarterback, have a close relationship with Dirt, who plans to develop Eli as a resource.
“I think you’d think I’m an idiot,” Dart said. So I think you can choose the brains of the first Balot Hall of Fame in the future, you’re going to be a fool if you wouldn’t.”
