After ‘Rust’ Armorer Manslaughter Guilty Verdict, Attention Turns to Alec Baldwin’s Trial

With the confidence that rust All eyes are on armorer Hannah Gutierrez, who was indicted on Wednesday on charges of manslaughter, but the trial of actor Alec Baldwin, who is accused of involvement in the shooting death of cinematographer Heilna Hutchins, will take place in July. It is planned that

Alec Baldwin could face 18 months in prison if convicted of manslaughter. The actor, who maintains his innocence, held a gun in his hand that he claims fired, resulting in Mr. Hutchin’s death in 2021.

On Wednesday, Hutchins’ family expressed satisfaction with the guilty verdict against Gutierrez.

The family said they were satisfied that “the jury, based on the evidence,” found her “guilty beyond a reasonable doubt for her role in taking Ms. Halina’s life.”

“Halina’s parents and sister have always wanted everyone responsible for her death to be held accountable,” the family’s attorney said.

“We look forward to the justice system ensuring that all others responsible for Ms. Halina’s death are required to face legal consequences for their actions.”

A judge remanded Gutierrez to custody ahead of sentencing, which is expected to take several weeks. She could face up to 18 months in prison.

Baldwin’s upcoming trial comes as New Mexico prosecutors reopened the case against him after dropping charges last year.

The decision to reopen the case came after prosecutors said “additional facts have emerged” as a result of an “extensive” investigation conducted in recent months.
